The foundation or "base" chosen by an actor sets the tone for every live theater,
big screen or video performance.  Our Creme Foundation series offers a broad
color palette, silky consistency and intense pigmentation for today's lighting and
demands.
Professional and college costume designers recommend Ben Nye in every stage
setting from opera to children's theater.  Bases blend effortlessly with Creme
Rouge, Highlights, Shadows, and Lining Colors.

Our series’ codes are easy to follow.  With the exception of Proscenium and
Bright Colors, shades deepen as Series’ numbers ascend.

FYI: Ben Nye has always offered the open cosmetic package because its contents
are completely accessible.  Apply with a latex sponge.
.5oz/14gm. Expect 35-60 applications

Proscenium (P) Series:  Innovative and classic colors for theatrical, ethnic, and
special effects characters.  Ideal for all film, video, or stage when specialty
shades are required.  Vivid pigmentation resists the intensity of lighting or
broad staging.
Lite (L) Series: More natural than many in the (P) Series, these shades impart
a warm tan-peach tone from very fair to subtle tan-rose.  Suitable for male and
female actors with fair to olive skin tones.

Tan (T) Series: Subtle golden-tan shades suited for blonde and brunette Anglo
ale and female.
Medium (M) Series:  Healthy, natural shades for Anglo males.  For best results,
apply thinly like a stain.  FYI: (M) and (Y) Series’ shades appear darker in the
container than when applied.

Olive (O) Series:  natural shades for male actors with olive skin tones.  Also useful
for olive-toned ethnic characters, much as the "Sharks" in "West Side Story".
Twenty (TW) Series:  A wide color spectrum from fair-olive to deep warm-browns.
Brunettes may find the lightest shades ideal.  Fawn and Honey may be best for olive
complexions.  The darker shades, Amber Lite through Blush Sable, are designed
especially for African-American performers.
Bright Base (BB) Series: Our most popular Liner shades in classic foundation size.  With
high pigmentation, they perform brilliantly for any theatrical setting.  Refer to Color
Liner Color Chart (Primary Creme Color Section) for selection.
